Shipping & Delivery Policy

How your cargo is packed, documented and delivered.

Last updated: 06 August 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to all export shipments of construction materials arranged by Viral Exim from India. The specific shipping terms of each order are stated in the sales contract / proforma invoice, which prevails over this general policy.

2. Incoterms

We supply on internationally recognised Incoterms as agreed per order — commonly EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF. The chosen Incoterm determines who arranges freight and insurance and where risk transfers from seller to buyer.

3. Packing

Materials are packed in export-worthy packing suitable for sea/air transit — for example, bundled and strapped steel, palletised cement, crated fabricated items and cartoned safety equipment. Special packing requirements must be specified at the time of order.

4. Dispatch timelines

5. Documentation

Standard export documents provided include Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading / Airway Bill, Certificate of Origin, and mill test certificates / quality certificates where applicable. Any destination-specific documents (e.g., legalisation, special certifications) must be requested at order stage and may carry additional cost.

6. Insurance

Marine insurance is arranged by us only for CIF/CIP shipments; for all other terms, cargo insurance is the buyer's responsibility.

7. Delays

We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping lines, port congestion, customs examination at origin or destination, or other events beyond our control. We will keep you informed and share tracking details wherever available.

8. Destination clearance

Import customs clearance, duties, taxes and local charges at the destination country are the buyer's responsibility unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

9. Short receipt or transit damage

Any shortage or transit damage must be noted on the delivery receipt and intimated to us and to the carrier/insurer in writing within the period specified in the contract (typically within 7 days of receipt), along with photographs and surveyor reports where applicable.
